Our PrACTICES
Our prayer is that these simple practices both ground us and grow us in the way of Jesus
Communion:
As those following the crucified and resurrected Jesus, we practice communion (the sharing of bread and wine) whenever we meet, in worshipful obedience of God and as an embodied witness to ongoing divine work in the world.
COMMUNITY:
As those participating in the life of a loving, relational God, we gather around the table, extending hospitality, sharing in the highs and lows of life and welcoming others to participate in community life.
PRAYING:
As those open and responsive to the work of the Holy Spirit, we assume a prayerful posture towards God, one another and the world around us. Our prayers take the form of words or acts of service, both structured and spontaneous.
PARTNERING:
As the latest generation of witnesses to the God of the Bible, we learn from those who have gone before and collaborate with different expressions and traditions of faith around us to represent the diversity and depth of God’s character.
LEARNING:
As those committed to learning, we read and reflect on the Bible and other books, inviting the story of Scripture to shape our lives, creating resources and sharing these with others through both in-person and digital means.
LEADING:
As those growing in godly wisdom and insight, we actively express leadership through the development of our own and others’ skills and encourage experimentation in use of gifts for the benefit of church, charitable and professional communities.
STEWARDING:
As stewards in and of God’s creation, we embody a rhythm of life that values rest and renewal as integral to divine design. We model this in practising sabbath rest; being shaped by the seasons of the Church calendar and hosting regular reflective retreats.
SERVING:
As those representing a generous God, we share time, resources and expertise freely within the community, extended networks and with individuals in particular need.
